Oh, I see the problem - Cecil accidentally sent me the wrong I/O shield - the top etheret port is covered by a firewire slot. Either way, both ports look like this in my device manager, and have code 10 error faults. I've tried loading the drivers from the gigabyte website, and a fresh format. I think for now i'm just gonna say screw it I acquired an intel GB PCIe ethernet card which will cover an empty slot. Hopefuly more doesn't die though this'll be a pain in the ass to pull out of my rig.

Y'all bastards better not have killed my board, that's all I can say! That is a freaking phenomenal piece of hardware.
Anyway, if you need documentation, I can give you a screenie of my purchase order from the Egg. Or if you need something else, I guess just let me know what it is you want. I doubt I have any paper records of it, although I do need to do some cleaning in my den, and there are plenty of Newegg boxes still in there to be discarded.
Keep me posted...

But yeah, I know it's at least got a 1-year warranty, maybe 3, but either way you're covered.

I had them both enabled and they worked just fine before they both crapped. I tried disabling one at a time - still error code 10 - now I've got them both disabled. Setup is good, I even tried your bios save - and defaults..the ports are dead as hell lol
Update --
The sound just died on it too... I'll need that reciept if u could, I'm gonna RMA ;(

That would be Zorch's doing then He didnt have it the night he gave it to me, and a quick glance looked like the 790X-UD4P one was the same, but guess not.

No worries, but hopefuly it isn't what caused the initial failure. Either way, replacement shouldn't be that hard - its prettymuch a new board..I do notice my asus setup is faster tho..feels more zippy anyways. Thats not taking the Raid 0 raptors into account lol.

There is no difference between any modern system for normal day to day stuff. Only things that effect that is HDD setups, internet, and OS installs. Modern CPUs with 4Gb of ram wont slow down doing average Joe stuff like web browsing, documents, movies and music.
