I too cant resist the value of the 555. I was going to just go with the Athlon II 250, but went ahead and dropped the extra $27 bucks for the 555. Not sure how good the MSI 785g FSB clocking is, so at least the unlocked multi will come in handy.
At least the board was cheaper then I though, after rebate they pay me $10 for it.

I've had a about a half-dozen of them, and they've all been great. I still own two right now, and even the freebie one that I got in a combo deal at MC is great. I've never had a single problem with Gigabyte, and if it weren't for the lack of core unlocking on the Gigabyte 890GX boards, I certainly wouldn't have this ASUS in my main. Messing around with the Thuban these last few days really made me miss the awesome Gigabyte BIOSes too. This ASUS/AMI BIOS blows chunks.
Maybe GB ships all their fail boards to kangaroo-town?

Who knows? Maybe Dinos22 secretly has it in for me and makes sure I get all the crap gb boards Just the luck of the draw I guess. I still wouldn't go for an Asus over a GB, I can't stand the Asus bios. Going to the store later tonight, said they would do a straight swap over

Only issue I've ever had was one board hated unlocking a 550 to quad - after the board was swapped it unlocked perfectly after that. I would still like to replace the gigabyte board in my main PC for a P5Q Deluxe or something...I just like asus better:D

I'll make you a nice deal on an ASUS M4A89GTD PRO!
I'm gonna have to go back to Gigabyte again sooner or later... or Foxconn if they don't fold their enthusiast department. For all that I guess their treatment of employees is shabby, I freaking LOVE me a Foxconn board!

Foxconn will never directly get another cent from me, ever. Indirectly they will, since they are found in a ton loads of consumer electronics. Same problems with the new board, so bugger knows what the problem with the rig is, tried different ram, psu and OS. Down to either the cpu or gpu. No replacements for either, yaay

If they make it past the first couple days then they are fine, but the ones that dont were just duds I guess. Aparently there are some i5s that are the same way.

"Twas the chip, got the replacement today, I love this PC store and their exchange policy But, this chip, without a doubt sucks and has probably visited hell a few times. Attachment:

That's 51c, stock voltages. Great. 4Ghz will be nothing but a dream for this CPU. Before anyone says it, I have reseated the H50, multiple times, no change. I could RMA the chip, but they won't exchange it again, and I will be weeks without a CPU. I'll just live with my 3.3ghz since I will be confined to a slow ass POS 100 year old netbook for weeks if I RMA. Damnit AMD!
