I'm willing to test Arctic Ceramique, AS5 and the IC7 Diamond in the next weeks.
I just applied some IC7 on my old lapped 5000+ BE. MAN, that shit is IMPOSSIBLE TO APPLY. It's acting like paste. More like half-solid play-doh. The only way there would be of spreading it evenly, would be with the bare fingers. Or maybe it was because my CPU is lapped?
Anyway, applied it, temps didn't spike. I think this would make some great paste for direct heatpipe heatsinks because of the consistency that would make a great filler for the gaps between the "base" and the pipes.

More like half-solid play-doh. Sounds like Ceramique. It's just like paste too. Pulls the CPU out of the socket when you remove the HSF at least half the time. Comes in handy when you have a loose-fitting HSF though. Holds that thing tight for you.

I've yanked a few CPU's out of the socket before with the stock HSF and paste. Wasn't my 9850 though.
